Pastor’s Pen – Georgina – 17th July 2019

Hi Church,

Last week I read the Passion Translation of Psalm 138 and was struck by verse 3:

“At the very moment I called out to you, you answered me!
You strengthened me deep within my soul and breathed fresh courage into me.”

Our God is not just the God who breathed life into us; He breathes courage and all that we need. Our very souls are strengthened by Him! We have a Father who is constantly at work in us; who answers us when we call (though not always in the ways we expect)!

So, when the next opportunity to step out occurs, remember that you are strengthened by the Heavenly Father, and filled with His courage! Trust in Him and step out!

Blessings,

Pastor Georgina

Hi Church Family,

I pray that Sunday was encouraging for us all as we revisited Joshua 3-4. We looked at the Israelites crossing the Jordan and how God instructed them to build a memorial out of stones from the river bed to serve as a reminder for what God had done for them.

We looked at two ideas of monuments and milestones. Monuments being things in our lives that remind us of what God has done. Milestones being key moments in our faith that have impacted us greatly. I hope that Sunday’s exercise of mapping out our lives and marking those milestones was encouraging.

Two opportunities I want to highlight for those looking to step out and make more of those faith milestones are; this Sunday evening (14th) we have “Fresh Encounter.” This is a combined worship night with Ryde Salvos. It starts at 5pm and is a great time of worship, relationship and spending time in God’s presence. Come along and check it out!

Secondly, Wellspring Conference on August 3rd. I have heard Pete McHugh speak and really enjoyed listening to him. He has a genuine passion for God, and leading people into an authentic and rich relationship with their creator. Can I encourage you if you have not signed up for this yet to do so as you will not want to miss out.

As we go into this week let us not forget God, His love and all the blessings He has poured out over us.

Blessings,
Pastor Andrew
